Judge Mike Conaway has arranged the program for Monday's meeting, June 20, 2022, at Rotary Hall.
The Honorable Cam Ward, Director of the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles will be speaking. The title of his presentation is "Autism Speaks......It'sTime to Listen". This may seem to be an unusual topic for a gentleman in his positionto speak on; however, he has a broad and personal knowledge of the subject..Cam has served in many roles in State Government but his greatest impact may have been his role as a state senator in advocating and working to pass a Bill that mandated third party coverage of behavioral therapies for children with autism, The passage was an extremely rare instance in the Alabama legislature of legislation passing despite significant opposition from a few large interest groups!This act has afforded autistic children thousand of hours of Applied Behavioral therapy and brought Alabama in line with other progressive southeastern states.

| District 6880 Disaster Response - Ukraine Crisis By: Sheila Azar |
Fellow Rotarians:
Today, Rotary District 6880 has committed to supporting Rotary's Disaster Response Fund, which has prioritized Rotary districts impacted by the Ukraine crisis, in the amount of $50,000.00. These funds come from our District's existing District Designated Funds.
When Rotarians, in District 6880, donate to the Rotary Annual Fund, 50% of these dollars come back 3 years later to the district in the form of District Designated Grants. In addition to funding local club projects, dollars are used to support many Rotary Global Grants as well as Polio Plus. This is why it is so important for all Rotarians to support the Rotary Foundation.
There are so many needs in this world, but the Ukraine crisis has truly touched all our hearts.
I ask each of my fellow Rotarians in District 6880 to seriously consider donating towards this unparalleledcrisis. With your help, we can make a difference.
