DOTHAN ROTARY'S 100 YR. GALA KEYNOTE SPEAKER
By: Dell Goodwin

We are super thrilled to announce our keynote speker for the 100th Rotary Gala will be John Germ, the 106th president of Rotary International, Business leader from Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 1965 after four years in the U.S. Air Force, Germ an engineer, joined Campbell and Associates Inc., an engineering consulting firm. He now serves as the company's board chair and chief executive officer. He also serves on the boards of several organizations. He is the founder and treasurer of the Chattanooga State Technical Community College Foundation.
Under Germ's leadership as 2016-2017 Rotary International President, Rotary International established stronger, more vibrant clubs, $1.2 billion was pledged to end polio, gained more recognition of our work in Rotary, and boosted our strategic communication efforts and increased our positive media coverage. John has always made time to serve his community, his most notable accomplishments being his work with the disadvantaged, as well as physically and mentally challenged individuals. John led the efforts to build Camp Discovery, a special designated camp for those with mental and physical disabilities. He spearheaded a $7 million campaign to raise funds for Orange Grove Center, a school for mentally challenged. These funds, also helped construct a residential rehabilitation center, residences, physical therapy area, and a recycling center. (Sounds like our WRC).
The Rotary 100th Year Celebration Gala will be Thursday, November 29th at 6PM at the Dothan Country Club.

Rotary-WES and Bell Ringers
By: John Gormley

Rotarians,
I "tip of the hat" to Kelli Pylant for her effective and efficient "herding of the cats" to put together the White Elephant Sale on Monday. I have chaired that function a couple of times and know the effort it takes to put it all together. Kelli made the process flawless and on very short notice! Thank you, Kelli!
Next....at our next meeting I will have the sign-up sheet for the December 4th bell ringing for the Salvation Army. We have the duty from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM on that day and I have broken down the times to one hour blocks. Please consider an hour for this annual event.
John Gormley
Past President
