Purple Pinkie Donuts
By: Sheila Azar

Congratulations! The Purple Pinkie Donuts project for eliminating Polio worldwide was a tremendous success! Our members really stepped up to help with this and we sold 420 boxes which equals $78,750 for Polio. WOW!
We will be at Rotary Hall, sorting and delivering Monday morning starting at 8:00 a.m. We plan to have donuts available for pickup 9:30 – 11:30.
Donuts that were purchased to be donated will be distributed to local first responders, hospital staff, and local nursing homes. If you can help, please let me know by emailing me at: President@DothanRotary.com

Care Bags for Nurses
By: Walter Hill

We need you! On Monday, October 25th we will be packaging the 483 care bags for the ICU and ER nurses at our two hospitals. We will start at 10:00 a.m. at WRC. The more Rotarians we have the easier it will be to finish by 11:30. After the meeting, we will load the bags on the Wiregrass Area Food Bank truck and deliver to both hospitals. If you can help us load them after the meeting, we will need help with that also. Finally, we would love Rotarians to join us as we go to Southeast Health and then Flowers Hospital to deliver the bags. Thank you to everyone that contributed money to make this possible. I am confident the nurses will appreciate this gesture.

Dothan Rotary Meeting October 25, 2021
By: Sheila Azar

Our program Monday, October 25, 2021 will be in observation of World Polio Day and Rotary International efforts to eliminate polio worldwide. The disease has almost been eradicated but still requires work in remote areas. Charles Buntin has a lot of information to share and it is going to be an awesome program.
I am looking forward to seeing you Monday, October 25th, 2021!

RYLA Applications
By: Alan Richards

I would like to thank club members for their interest and support of RYLA. I just wanted to emphasize a few key points.
- 10th and 11th grade high school students are eligible to attend
-The location will be Camp ASCCA
-Dates are March 3rd through March 6th 2022
-Application target due date is November 15th with the last possible date is February 1, 2022.
- There is a sense of urgency of filing applications because applications will need to be approved by our board, and then will be submitted to District. District approves on a first come, first served basis. There are 48 clubs in our District with only 60 available slots for RYLA.
Thank you,
Alan
